Small Chateau Lookout near Františkovy Lázně

The history of Zámeček (Small Chateau) dates back to 1916 when a restaurant with the second lookout tower in Františkovy Lázně and the residence of the local park manager were built. In the early 20th century, the lookout tower offered a view of Cheb, the Ore Mountains, Slavkov Forest and the hilltops of the Smrčiny Uplands. Today, the view is unfortunately blocked by the surrounding trees that have overgrown the 12-metre high lookout tower. The Small Chateau nonetheless remains a popular destination of tourists. Following a recent reconstruction of the whole complex, the restaurant was re-opened to the public along with a new hotel offering period accommodation.
