Every odd year in August, the Wallenstein Festival is held in Cheb to commemorate the frequent stays of Duke Albrecht von Wallenstein (Czech: Albrecht z Valdštejna) in the town. The two-day celebrations feature parades, a historical fair, concerts, jousts, re-enactments of historical events, fireworks, etc.
