Skiing in the District

Even though Františkovy Lázně (German: Franzensbad) is not situated in the mountains, its surroundings offer ideal skiing opportunities. All you need to do is to travel to Waldsassen (about 17 kilometres from Františkovy Lázně) on the German side of the border, to nearby Aš, or a little further to Mariánské Lázně or Bublava.
