The Meteorological Column has been standing in Františkovy Lázně since 1882. At present, you will find it approximately 50 metres from its original location, in the park not far from Plynové lázně (Gas Bath House).

The column served the spa guests to whom it provided information on the climate at the spa. One of the essential values for spa treatment is barometric pressure as it affects, for example, the volume of naturally emitted CO2.
