Cheb Urban Monument Zone

Category: Other Points of Interest region: Up to 10km from Františkovy Lázně  | Město: Cheb

Just 6 kilometres away from Františkovy Lázně, the town of Cheb (German: Eger) was founded in the mid 12th century. It is therefore no surprise that it is literally filled with structures of immense historical value. The most noteworthy landmarks include, for example, Cheb Castle, the Franciscan Monastery or the Church of Saint Nicholas.

Most of the historically valuable monuments may be found in the vicinity of Krále Jiřího z Poděbrad (King George of Poděbrady) Square. What you should not miss:

  • Špalíček – Group of burgher houses from the 13th century
  • Church of Saint Wenceslaus
  • Church of Saint Bartholomew
  • Town Hall
  • Church of Saint Claire
  • Pachelbel's House with the Cheb Museum
  • Fountain of Knight Roland
  • Fountain with the statue of the Wild Man
  • Burgher houses in the town square
