Not far from Františkovy Lázně, you may find one of the popular attractions in the region - the Butterfly House. In case you decide to visit it, you will be rewarded by the beauty of exotic butterfly species from Africa, South America, South and East Asia, or Australia. You will be able to see all stages of the butterfly life cycle from the egg to the caterpillar over to the chrysalis and the adult butterfly.

The Butterfly House in Žírovice also houses an extensive collection of mounted specimens of Czech and exotic butterflies. And should you decide to bring some of the beautiful specimens home with you, you may assemble your own butterfly collection.

 

If you venture to walk from Františkovy Lázně, follow the red-marked tourist path that will lead you straight to the Butterfly House. The journey from the railway station takes about 30 minutes.
